An Emergency Physician

Emergency Room Explained is written by a board-certified emergency physician practicing in the United States. The author evaluates and treats patients across the full spectrum of emergency care, from minor injuries and common illnesses to time-critical medical emergencies.

The articles are informed by firsthand clinical experience in emergency medicine, established emergency medicine practice, professional-society guidance, and published medical literature. They focus particularly on parts of emergency care that are often difficult for patients to see or understand: triage, waiting-room care, diagnostic testing, uncertainty, admission and discharge decisions, and the limits of an emergency evaluation.

"An Emergency Physician" is used as the author's public identity to keep the focus on the educational content rather than on an individual physician or employer.
