Emergency departments do not operate in arrival order. Triage weighs severity, time sensitivity, and available resources—which is why someone who arrived later may be treated first.
“Still in the waiting room” doesn't mean “still waiting for care”
Care may already be underway while you remain in the waiting room. Staff may be assessing your symptoms, reviewing results, and watching for changes even before you enter a treatment room.
